Hey Creative!
I came into the world as a writer who wanted to be a doctor. I have always been a Creative Academic. After earning my PhD, I got a job as an English Professor. (writer and doctor, check and check!)
Then, I turned 50 (Hello, Second Season!) and I was busy doing all the things that I was supposed to do. I was better than ever. But something was nagging at me--brewing in me.
After a lot of prayer and fasting, I was reminded of the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30). That story reminded me that if I'm still here, I'm expected to continue to have an impact.
So, in my Second Season, I stepped out on this journey.
Now I'm writing, acting, directing, AND helping others step out into their multiple creative and academic talents too--as entrepreneurs. I'm building a VISION that blends my gifts and talents into a brand I can be proud of...because I believe we can be this AND that.
When I started this journey, I wanted clarity, direction, and momentum. I wanted to serve--and to monetize. So I've been working hard, learning how to build a personal brand & business strategy for people like ME--the multi-talented type. Now, every time I leave a shoot, or teach a class, I thank God for pushing me toward multiplying my gifts and building a personal brand to guide and guardrail that process.
